We, at Gregorin Dental, offer The Wand by Compudent to administer our local anesthetic, for anything from cleanings to root canals. If you are like most and have a fear of needles, or have fear of the “sting” of numbing, you will love our computer controlled technology for administering anesthetic! It uses a slow and steady flow, making it the most comfortable way to become numb. Studies have found that patients experience less anxiety with The Wand versus standard needle injections.

iTero Digital Scanning for Crowns and Bridges

With iTero Digital Scanning, we use a handheld wand to scan your mouth creating an impression 100% digitally without the mess or bad taste of traditional mold materials. These digital impressions are then sent electronically straight to the dental lab, shortening the processing time. Traditional mold impressions can sometimes result in several visits to find the right crown fit, this technology takes that guesswork away. Providing a digital scan of your teeth, we can then view and edit as needed. Accurate imaging results sent directly to the lab create significantly improved restorations, with a better experience for you.

Digital X-Rays

At Gregorin Dental, we use digital x-rays. Digital x-rays have several advantages over traditional film. Most importantly, digital uses 1/5 the radiation of traditional x-rays, allowing you to be that much safer. The thought of exposure to excess radiation is eliminated. Digital allows us to display large on-screen images of your x-rays, allowing the dentist to see areas of concern more easily. Digital x-rays are available immediately, saving time, and allowing us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.

Digital radiography has greatly enhanced dentistry. It allows you, the patient, and Dr. Gregorin to view images of the teeth in higher resolution on a large format for easier detection of problems. The process we use gives us clinically meaningful images that are detailed. If an image needs to be retaken, it is quickly identified and can be retaken immediately. Additionally, digital format allows us to send and receive your images electronically for consultation, if needed.

X-rays are one of our best diagnostic tools, it allows us to identify dental problems that are too small or hidden from visual inspection. It’s for your benefit that we detect those issues. By finding them, we are able to fix them before they progress to a more serious problem. More serious problems mean more office visits, more money, and possibly pain. X-rays are primarily used to detect:

  • Tooth decay that is internal.
  • Cysts which are an indication of infection.
  • Tumors, either cancerous or non-cancerous.
  • Impacted teeth including wisdom teeth.
  • Teeth that are still coming in or have not descended.

Intra-Oral Camera

An intraoral camera gives you, the patient, a view of what the dentist sees. About the size of a toothbrush, Dr. Gregorin is able to show you with this small camera decay, broken fillings, fractured teeth, or any other dental problems. Then we can discuss with you treatment recommendations. Helping you have a clear understanding of your dental needs, helps us decide together what treatment is best for you.

UltraSonic Scalers

Ultrasonic Scaling Device and Ultrasonic Scalers are used for most adult dental cleanings. This device uses ultrasonic vibrations that help break down plaque and calculus on your teeth that cause gingivitis and periodontal disease. By creating microscopic bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, Ultrasonic Scalers kill microbes and remove plaque and hard tartar in the process. Leaving you with that smooth, clean feeling!

More about scalers:

  • No chemicals are used, only water.
  • Removes tartar in hard to reach areas, causing no damage to the tooth enamel.
  • Painless, the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an Ultrasonic Scaler is barely perceptible making it suitable for those with sensitive teeth.
  • The cleaning process is faster
